(July 3, 2017): Brenton Wood – Gimme Little Sign

From the 1967 album, Oogum Boogum. Way back when I heard this song on top 40 radio in the late 1960s, I confused Wood’s name (born Al Smith) with Bretton Woods, even though, at that time, I had no idea that it was a place in New Hampshire that hosted the 1944 United Nations Monetary and Financial Conference. The tune brings back memories of a musically happy time when soul and Motown often dominated pop.
