(April 10, 2016): Wess & The Airedales – Crazy

From the 1969 album, A Warmer Side of Wess. Wess Johnson was born in Winston-Salem and got his start in music in New York as the bassist for the Airedales.  He took over vocals in 1967 when Rocky Roberts left and moved with the band to Italy.  He began a solo career singing in Italian with I Miei Giorni Felici, which was top song 1968, but continued to release material as Wess & The Airedales until 1973.  If you wanted to hear any of this in the U.S. at the time, you had to pick it up on imports from Italy or Spain.
