(February 11, 2016): The Afternoon Delights – General Hospi-Tale (vocal)

From the 1981 12″ single, General Hospi-tale.  The single off the kitch “concept” album, spoofing the TV soap opera.  A “one hit wonder” band at the dawn of rapping.  Vocalists Janet Powell, Rebecca Hall, Robalee Barnes, and Suzanne Boucher did have other gigs, but so far as I can tell and for whatever reason things were pretty sparse.

  1. Harry King says:

The music and arrangement and music for this song and the chorus was written in a pickup truck between Kittery Maine and Methuen MA (40 minutes) by Harry King on the way to the studio, because he forgot he had a studio full of singers and players and was supposed to write some kind of song around a set of lyrics on a piece of paper written by Lisa Lips . It was handed to him on Friday and this was Monday. Lisa was a soap reporter for Kiss 108 in Medford MA. It was up to fifty on Billboard in two weeks much to the surprise of everyone involved in this recording. ………Harry King
