(January 3, 2016): Mark Murphy – Be-Bop Lives (Boplicity)

From the 1981 album, Bop For Kerouac.  It went largely unnoticed that Mark Murphy died at the end of October last year.  From 1956 through 2013 he released forty-two long players.  This one and Bop For Miles are my favorites.  Vocalese at its best.

  1. Cha Cha says:

Actually, there was acknowledgement of Mark’s passing in many newspapers such as “The New York Times” and “The Guardian,” as well as in jazz magazines such “DownBeat.”
