(December 11, 2015): Dave Dudley – Two Six Packs Away

From the 1965 album, Truck Driving Son-of-a-Gun.  The father of truck driving country music making light of drinking and driving back with this Ronnie Self tune, back when that seemed ok.  Dudley, himself, was seriously injured by a hit and run driver in 1960 while packing his guitar into his trunk after a gig.  Dudley broke in with “Six Days on the Road” in 1963 and had fifteen more truck driving hits through the 1960s and continued to record through the 1970s.
