(May 26, 2015): Brinsley Schwarz – (What’s So Funny ‘Bout) Peace, Love, and Understanding

From the 1974 single (7″, 45 rpm), (What’s So Funny ‘Bout) Peace, Love And Understanding / Ever Since You’re Gone.  The 1978 Elvis Costello cover of this song is much better known, but here are roots.  Nick Lowe tune on the a-side.  Dave Edmunds tune on the b-side.  Very Rockpile.  And, indeed, Costello’s version first appeared as a b-side to his producer, Nick Lowe’s, 1978 single, “I Made An American Squirm” under the credit “Nick Lowe and His Sound”.  It would soon be out on American Forces under Costello’s own name.
