From the a-side of the 1966 single, Down the Road / Nadine. The tune also appears on another 1966 single by the band as, Sha-La-La-La-Lee / Down the Road. The A-Cads were a Johannesburg band. This single had the misfortune of being released the same year as the notorious judgment in the second phase of the South West Africa cases (Ethiopia v. South Africa; Liberia v. South Africa). Popularity outside of South Africa eluded the band. Indeed, Australia is only now just recovering from Percy Spender’s disastrous casting vote as President of the ICJ (with the likely election of James Crawford to the Bench this year as an Australia for the first time since Spender).
