(June 27, 2014): John Adams – The Dharma at Big Sur (Parts I & II)

From the 2006 two CD set, The Dharma at Big Sur / My Father Knew Charles Ives.  This piece was commissioned for the opening of Los Angeles’s Frank Gehry–designed Disney Hall. It features electric violinist Tracy Silverman.  Part I (A New Day) is dedicated to Lou Harrison and Part II  (Sri Moonshine) is dedicated to Terry Riley.
