(Nov 15, 2013): Rotary Connection – Aladdin

K-SHE Classic.  The title track from the 1968 album, Aladdin.  Rotary Connection was sweetmeatactive between 1967 and 1971.  They released six LPs during that time and three of them came out in 1968.  Aladdin was the third LP for 1968.  Minnie Ripperton is hitting those incredible high notes, who before Rotary Connection was the receptionist at Chess Records.  Mitch Aliotta, also on vocals, would go on to form another band rich in K-SHE Classics, Aliotta, Haynes & Jeremiah (think “Lake Shore Drive”).  One reason why the band is not more well known is because of the bad decision not to play Woodstock in favor of some smaller, but at the time better paid, gig in Toronto.
