(Sept 11, 2013): Johnny “Hammond” Smith – Soul Talk-1970

From the 1969 album, Black Feeling!  This is a funked up version of “Soul Talk” — which was pretty funky itself — that appeared appeared as Pt. 1 and Pt 2 on a 1969 7″ single.  It is bassmen Bob Bushnell and Jimmy Lewis that help take the music in a funkier direction.  Also playing are: Rusty Bryant (saxes), Wally Richardson (guitar), Bernard Purdie (drums), Leo Johnson (tenor sax) and Virgil Jones (trumpet).
