(Apr 14, 2013): Georges Lentz – Caeli enarrant… III & IV

From the 2002 ablum, Lentz: ‘Caeli enarrant…’ III & IV / Birrung / Nguurraa.  Lentz is a Luxemburger  who has lived in Australia since 1990 (arriving roughly a year earlier than me).  These pieces are part of Lentz’s ongoing cycle of Caeli ennarrant works.  Both were completed in 2000.  The first (III) is for strings (six violins, three violas, three cellos), three percussionists and boy soprano, and falls into three movements played without a break.  The second is for string quartet and four suspended cymbals.  The work was recorded in Eugene Goossens Hall in the Sydney Opera House.
