(Feb 7, 2013): Sunnyland Slim – Be Careful How You Vote

From the 1989 compilation reissue, Be Careful How You Vote.  In his 1997 book on the Blues, Tony Russell reported that Studs Terkel once said Sunnyland Slim was “a living piece of our folk history, gallantly and eloquently carrying on in the old tradition.”  After moving to Chicago, Slim played with the likes of Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, Robert Lockwood, and Little Walter.  Later in the 1960s, like many elders of the Blues, Slim would play with Canned Heat, Mick Taylor and John Mayall.
