(Feb 1, 2013): John Kay & The Sparrow – Going To California

From the 1969 album, John Kay & The Sparrow.  Following the success of Steppenwolf, Columbia pulled archived material recorded by Kay and Sparrow and released it on this LP dated 1967.   It includes singles released in 1966 (“Tomorrow’s Ship”, “Isn’t It Strange”, “Green Bottle Lover”, “Down Goes Your Love Life”) and 1967 (“Twisted”, “Square Headed People”).  “Going to California” presumably tells the tale of Sparrow’s move from New York (after relocating there from Canada) in 1966.
