(Dec 11, 2012): Joe Ely – Fingernails

From the 1981 album, Live Shots.  This LP was records live during Ely’s 1980 English tour with the Clash.  For a short time, it appeared that punk/new wave might include a strain of country in its pedigree but it never quite worked out.  Joe Ely is a member of the Flatlanders (with Jimmie Dale Glimore and Butch Hancock) and has also worked across  genres with the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Uncle Tupelo, Los Super Seven, The Clancy Brothers, James McMurtry, Lyle Lovett, John Hiatt, and Guy Clark.
