(Nov 4, 2012): Édouard Lalo – Symphonie Espangole in D Minor, Op. 21 (V – Rondo (Allegro))

From the 1956 album, Lalo: Symphonie Espagnole In D Minor, Op. 21, Bruch: Violin Concerto In G Minor, Op. 26.  An outstanding performance by Isaac Stern (violin) with the Philadelphia Orchestra (Eugene Ormandy, cond.).  A later, slightly slower 1967 performance (with Stern, Ormandy and the Philadelphia Orchestra) found its way on to Volume 8 of the “Isaac Stern: A Life in Music” series.  The original is collected in The Isaac Stern Collection: The Early Concerto Recordings, Vol. 2.  If you are interested in the original vinyl, a copy can be had on Amazon for as little as $2.95.
